The Prelude: Dispatch & Processing
Every movement must reach its destination with care. At J'essence Parfums, I believe the final "Resolution" of our performance is the moment our scent arrives at your door.
As an artisanal, small batch studio based in Christchurch, New Zealand, every order is personally prepared by the composer.

Processing Time: Please allow 1-2 business days for your selection to be carefully packed and prepared for transit. Orders place on weekends or public holidays will be processed the next business day.
- The Artisanal Touch: Because J'essence Parfums is a boutique operation, this window allows me to ensure every "composition" is securely housed before it begins its journey to you.
The Crescendo: Shipping Rates & Delivery Options
I currently ship nationwide across New Zealand using premium tracked courier services. To ensure transparency and simplicity, I offer flat-rate shipping regardless of what island you are on (North/South Island).
- Standard Nationwide Delivery (Urban Only): $10.00
- Rural Nationwide Delivery (Select for RD Addresses): $15.00
Important note on Rural Addresses: If you live at a Rural Delivery (RD) address, please ensure you select the "Rural Delivery" option at checkout.
- Why? Rural couriers charge an additional fee to travel beyond the standard network. Selecting the correct option ensures your "composition" reaches you without delay or administrative hold-ups.
Delivery Timeframes
Once your order has been personally prepared and dispatched, my target delivery timeframes are:
- Standard Nationwide: Typically, 1-3 business days.
- Rural Addresses: Please allow an additional 1-2 business days for the final leg of the journey.
(Note: While I dispatch promptly and utilise the fastest available networks, please be aware that standard courier timeframes can occasionally fluctuate during peak seasons).
Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking number by email so you can follow your parcels journey.
Delivery Responsibility
Please ensure your delivery address is entered correctly at checkout. Once a parcel has been marked as delivered by the courier, responsibility for the order passes to the customer. If you experience any delivery issues, please contact me as soon as possible so I can assist.
Lost or Delayed Parcels
If your parcel appears delayed or missing, please contact me within 5-7 days of the expected delivery date. I will lodge an enquiry with the courier on your behalf.
The Ethical Rhythm: Conscious Packaging
Rooted in the spirit of New Zealand, our luxury is conscious and kind.
- Conscious Protection: I prioritise eco-conscious paper packaging like honeycomb wrap where possible. However, to meet strict Dangerous Goods regulations for leak-proof transport, I adopt a circular approach where I can: I repurpose the protective pouches received from my suppliers. This gives the materials a second life and ensures your fragrance arrives safely while minimising new plastic waste.
